Where to start with this book.
So it's about an odd form of boarding school. The mainish character Nancy has been sent to a new school because she was missing for months and came back different. Her side of the story is that she walked through a door and was in another world. She tried explaining this to her parents, they didn't believe her. That is how she found herself at the School for Wayward Children.
This school was made for children who have been to other dimensions and their parents either didn't want them or wanted them "fixed". Nancy went to the Underworld and lived with the Lord of the Dead for many years. At this new school, she meets other girls, and a few guys. Most had happier worlds than the Underworld. Anyway, people started getting murdered. Nancy was the prime suspect because of here she had gone.
It was not her, in the end, her door comes back and she goes through.
I loved this book. I read it during my 5 hour work shift. It kept me on my toes, just wanting to know what happened next. The characters were lovable and some were easy to hate. The real killer was a shock to me. I had to reread the ending multiple times because it all happened so fast, I just couldn't believe it.
